This full-day workshop is intended for anyone who needs to understand and use ICD-10 for eyecare. This includes ophthalmologists, optometrists, managers, technicians and billing staff who make entries in the medical record or handle claims for reimbursement. In the morning, attendees learn the theory and principles of ICD-10 coding. In the afternoon, attendees practice coding with ICD-10 using diverse case studies focused exclusively on evaluation and treatment of eye diseases and conditions. The workshop aims to teach attendees to accurately and speedily choose an appropriate ICD-10-CM code(s) for the associated medical record using a variety of tools (i.e., ICD-10-CM handbook, computer, smart phone, or tablet).
